CHG South West Directors
Ashley, John and Robin are the three directors of CHG South West, with a wealth of experience they bring together their own skills and strengths. The Directors head up a strong and highly skilled and dedicated team of 49 to guarantee your project is completed to a first-class standard.
Robin was born and raised locally in a farming background but quickly decided that was not the route that he wanted to take. After training for his electrical apprenticeship with a local company he decided to travel and spent time in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Ukraine before returning to England and working in the solar fields across the country. Robin was involved in the design and installation of many of the solar fields that you see.
Robin is heavily involved in all aspects of the business, from running the electrical department to overseeing the finances of the company.
He lives with his wife and newly born daughter, Philippa. Any free time he has away from work, Robin can be found hacking up a golf course somewhere!
John has over 17 years’ experience as a water engineer providing domestic and commercial clients solutions to their water quality issues including water softeners, low water pressure or flow, borehole and well water treatment, as well as legionella and other water harbouring bacteria.
John’s director roles include oversight of health and safety and HR within the company as well as the day to day running of the water treatment section of the company whilst continuing to have a hands on role servicing and installing on the more technical projects.
John lives in Somerset with his wife and 4 children. Away from work he is heavily involved with the children’s work in his local church and a wide range of sports and activities that his children are involved in.
Ashley has over 30 years’ experience in the trade. He started out as a trainee plumber with a local company at 16, before working in South Germany for 18 months in Bavaria. Here he quickly learnt the language and developed his plumbing and heating skills further whilst learning more about Renewable technologies.
Ashley now specialises in Domestic and Commercial plumbing and heating and Renewable technologies, focusing on the long term direction of the company, meeting key clients and developing new customer relationships.
Ashley lives locally with his wife and two children and outside of work enjoys skiing, cricket, fishing, cycling and the various other sports his sons are involved in.
CHG South West Managers
Nathan has over 25 years’ experience in the Construction Industry, with over 15 of these being in Plumbing and Heating. Nathan qualified from Weymouth College with an OND in Building Studies, before going on to Kingston University where he gained a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying. After graduation Nathan spent time working in General Building, Ventilation and Structural Steelwork before finally settling in Plumbing & Heating.
Nathan manages several of CHGs key contracts along with IT, Health & Safety, Environmental and Compliance.
Nathan lives locally and outside of work enjoys travelling, sailing, skiing, rugby and various other sports.
Mike has over 12 years’ experience in the plumbing and heating industry. Initially starting as an apprentice plumber within a local company he completed NVQ qualifications early and was entered and awarded to represent Somerset Taunton college as apprentice of year in UK event. Over the last 5 years Mike has been estimating and project running mechanical and renewable installations including gas, oil, heat pumps and solar thermal systems.
Mike is now the CHG installation manager in charge of all the mechanical estimating, design and installations. When requesting a quotation on mechanical works you will most likely be greeted by Mike who will discuss thoroughly with you all the possibilities and options you have to achieve your goal. His spikey hair makes him hard to forget!
Mike is newly married and lives with his wife in Crewkerne, where he enjoys a range of activities including football, travelling and golf.
Previously working at RNAS Yeovilton for the MOD in a number of different finance roles, Jodie was able to study at Yeovil College and obtain the AAT Technician qualification. In her role as Business and Finance Assistant Manager of a large department spread over a number of military bases she was able to diversify and develop her skills.
Jodie heads up the Finance team working closely with the Company Directors and Accountants and has recently taken on a new role within the company of HR administration.
Away from work Jodie lives in the Sherborne area with her partner. She enjoys many different sports including captaining and running a local Netball team, camping, cycling and walking.
Ian has been in the plumbing trade for at least 20 years, having worked initially for a national company, becoming a branch manager, a business development manager and a buyer. He then worked for a local company for the last 8 years sourcing competitive prices in the commercial & domestic markets.
Ian a key member of the team and is responsible for all of our buying, negotiating the best prices possible for us to pass on to our customers.
Ian has been happily married 34 years and has one son. As a dog lover he loves nothing more than walking his two collies.
Customer Services Manager
Kathryn has over 20 years’ experience working in customer services within the West Dorset area. She currently runs our own customer services team, running the day to day organisation of our servicing contracts and incoming enquiries.
Kathryn lives in East Devon with her Husband and two small children, which keep her busy in her spare time! She enjoys travelling, socialising and spending time with her family.
